When R/Si<2, the product is silicone resin; when R/Si≈2, it is a high viscous plastic state, namely silicone rubber; when R/Si>2, it is a low molecular weight oil, Called silicone oil.

Appearance: The external appearance of silicone oil. Hydrogen-containing methyl silicone oil is generally a colorless or slightly yellow transparent liquid. The color of silicone oil is a very important criterion to distinguish the quality of silicone oil.
Hydrogen content: The biggest difference between methyl hydrogen-containing silicone oil and other silicone oils. One who is familiar with methyl silicone oil can see that the hydrogen content is determined by the size of N in the molecular structure, because the end-blocking groups of general methyl silicone oil are the same.

Advantages and uses:The biggest advantage of methyl hydrogen-containing silicone oil is that it has a good waterproof effect. It can be cross-linked to form a film at low temperature under the action of a metal salt catalyst, and can form a waterproof film on the surface of various substances. It can be used as a waterproofing agent for fabrics, glass, ceramics, paper, leather, metal, cement, marble and other materials. Especially in a large number of applications in fabric waterproofing. Together with methyl hydroxy silicone oil emulsion, it can not only waterproof but also maintain the original breathability and softness of the fabric, and can improve the tear strength, friction strength and antifouling properties of the fabric. In addition, it can also be used as an anti-sticking release agent and cross-linking agent for paper, as well as a foaming agent for foamed silicone rubber.

A methyl hydrogen-containing silicone oil, characterized in that it is prepared by the following method: (1) 10-20 parts by mass of vinyl silane coupling agent and 0.1-0.5 parts by mass of platinum catalyst are mixed, and stirred evenly , Add 40-80 parts by mass of methylhydrocyclosiloxane dropwise, after the addition, heat up to 60-100°C at 2°C/min, react for about 2-5h, and distill under reduced pressure to obtain modified methylhydrocyclosiloxane Oxane. (2) Mix 10-50 parts by mass of the modified methylhydrocyclosiloxane obtained in step 1 with 50-100 parts by mass of methylcyclosiloxane, vacuum dehydration at 50-60°C for about 1-2h, Under the protection of nitrogen, add 2-5 parts by mass of end-capping agent and 2-5 parts by mass of acidic catalyst in sequence, and carry out ring-opening polymerization for about 3-6 hours at 90-120° C. in a nitrogen atmosphere. (3) Cool to room temperature, filter to remove the acidic catalyst; the filtrate is heated to 160-180°C, and the low-boiling substances are removed by vacuum distillation for 1-2h to obtain methyl hydrogen-containing silicone oil.
